Though not striking in terms of bringing significant precipitation to the area, a low pressure system will move into the Carson City today, bringing a very slight chance for rain and snow showers to western Nevada and the Sierra through Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
A system centered over southern California will spread clouds across the Sierra today with brief flurries or sprinkles possible this morning. As this low moves east, isolated showers may develop this afternoon. While this is going on, a weak cold front will move south of Oregon late this afternoon to bring a slight chance of showers, especially to the north tonight and Monday.
For Carson City and Carson Valley, the high today will reach around 50 with a slight chance of flurries today and a slight chance, about 20 percent, of isolated showers tonight. Tomorrow, the high temperatures is expected at around 47 with a 20 percent chance of showers. Expect sunny skies Tuesday through Thursday.
For Dayton, residents can expect a high today of 49, with a slight chance of flurries and a 30 percent chance of rain or snow showers tonight. Monday’s high is expected to be around 46, with a 30 percent chance of rain or snow.
