After more than six years reviewing thousands of family letters and documents, diligent research and personal interviews about the Dangberg Home Ranch, author and photographer Conrad Buedel wrote a life story of the Carson Valley’s famous settlement. As guest speaker at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City on Thursday, July 25, Buedel will discuss his work “Lost Legacy of Carson Valley: The Rise and Fall of the H.F. Dangberg Ranching Empire.”
In writing the book, Buedel examined financial statements, ledgers, minute books and countless records from the H.F. Dangberg Land & Live Stock Company to retell the history of Henry Fred Dangberg and his family. The book details the rise and the fall of one of Nevada's most prominent pioneer families and contains hundreds of personal family photographs along with rare documents and letters seldom seen.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for the Frances Humprey Lecture Series event. The author will speak at 6:30 and be available to sign books. The museum is at 600 N. Carson Street.
