Patches of dense fog formed Tuesday morning in the valleys from Reno south to Carson City and Carson Valley prompting a statement from the National Weather Service because of commuter traffic and driving conditions.
The fog has developed over the Truckee Meadows and North Valley area. The worst visibility was east of Pyramid Highway in Sparks, Spanish Springs and along East McCarran including around the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.
The fog is expected to burn off around mid-morning between 8 and 10 a.m., according to the weather service. Motorists should exercise extreme caution when encountering the fog. Slow down and turn headlights on.
