While not much in the way of snow happened overnight in Carson City, forecasters say a few snow showers may make their way off the lake. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Scattered snow showers are expected to continue on and off through the morning from Reno to Carson Valley. The snow showers are likely to become more numerous by mid day, potentially producing 1-2 inches of powdery snow, according to the National Weather Service.
Areas of Lake Tahoe may seen enhanced lake effect snow showers. Localized 3 to 6 inches of snow could happen along the east shore of Lake Tahoe and into Washoe Valley, Carson City and Minden areas. Lake effect snow is possible today southeast of Pyramid Lake as well, according to the weather service.

Around Carson City, roads are slick with a light dusting overnight. Water on the roads has frozen overnight leading to icy areas, and causing hazardous road conditions. Plan on extra time for holiday travel on roadways in the region and for the morning and afternoon commute.
Carry emergency supplies and be prepared for travel delays. Those heading to ski resorts should dress for every cold temperatures and breezy winds. Wednesday’s high temperatures around Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas will hover around freezing with an overnight low of 20.
Pet owners should bring their animals indoors because it is going to get cold. Thanksgiving Day will bring a slight chance of snow showers, with a high of 31 and a low of 17. The forecast remains cold through the weekend, scattered snow showers possible, with highs around freezing and lows in the upper teens.
