Sunday is fun day. Get ready for springtime flowers with the Anniversary Sale at Greenhouse Garden Center. If you can’t wait for your own flora to grow, join a ranger at Washoe Lake State Park during their Wildflower Walk to the Deadman’s Creek gazebo. Let the little ones burn off some energy at the Carson Car Center’s Grand Opening: free hot dogs, hamburgers, and a bounce house make for a fun time.

SUNDAY:

  • Nevada Artists Association Art Exhibit featuring Bill Migan and Photography by Chas. H. McDonnell, III at the Carson Visitor Center (8am-5pm)
  • CC BMX Racing at the Livermore (Edmonds) Sports Complex: 1555 Livermore Lane (signups 9am-10am; $10, must be USABMX member; new rider kits available)
  • Breakfast and Bowl at Carson Lanes (9am-12pm; breakfast and unlimited bowling until noon $13, $8 kids 12 and younger)
  • Grand Opening of the Carson Car Center: 3659 S. Carson St. (9am-5pm; Live music, bounce house, free burgers/hot dogs, raffle and more; proceeds to benefit Carson City Little League)
  • 42nd Anniversary Sale at the Greenhouse Garden Center: 2450 S. Curry St. (10am-5pm)
  • Painting Class at Mona Lisa and Wine: 3821 S Carson St (1pm-4pm; $40; includes free Cocktail/Beer/Wine/Soft Drink with each signup)
  • Special Olympics Track and Field practice at Carson Middle School (1pm-3pm)
  • Douglas High School performs "And a Child Shall Lead" in the Douglas High Drama Room: 1670 State Route 88, Minden (2pm; $10 at the door)
  • Painting Class at Van Gogh and Vino (2pm-4:30pm; $30 per painter)
  • Sunday Funday: Free game of pool with drink purchase at Westside Pour House
  • Barony of FalDare, Amtgard Live Action Role Play Group at Nerdvana: NEW LOCATION 3220 Hwy 50, Suite #2 (12pm-4pm; Foam sword fighting, crafts, classes; child-friendly, under 18 must have a waiver signed by their parents; newcomers welcome, for info email FalDareMonarchy@gmail.com)
  • Deadman’s Creek Trail Wildflower Walk at Washoe Lake State Park: Meet at the Maze parking lot (1pm; moderate, one mile, round-trip hike; leashed dogs welcome; bring a camera, binoculars, a jacket, and water; park entrance fee $7 per vehicle, Nevada residents $5)
  • Weekly Pool Tournament at Whiskey Tavern (register 1pm; 2pm start; $10 per person)
  • Pool Tournament at Remedy’s (2pm-5pm; $5 buy-in; APA Rules)
  • Live Music with Lucky Diamond and Deep Groove at the Red Dog Saloon, Virginia City (6pm-9pm)
  • Live Music with Bill Wharton at the Carson Valley Inn Cabaret, Minden (6pm-10pm)
  • Painting Class at Van Gogh and Vino (6:30pm-9pm; $30 per painter)
  • Nerdvana After Hours at Nerdvana: 3220 Hwy 50, Suite #2 (9pm; must be 18+)
