Carson Girls U10 Softball – Sweet Peas defeat Pink Diamonds

In a well-pitched outing by both teams, the Carson Valley Helping Hands Thrift Store Sweet Peas earned their first win of the season, beating the CarsonNow.org Pink Diamonds 11-5 in a regulation six innings.

During the contest, the pitchers for the Sweet Peas were: K. Olsen – 2 innings, no runs, no hits, no walks, 6 strike outs; K. Reid – 2 innings, 2 runs, 1 hit, 4 walks, 4 strike outs; and, S. Randall – 2 innings, 3 runs, 1 hit, 4 strike outs. For the Pink Diamond: Kelley Barr – 2, innings, 1 run, 1 hit, 3 walks, 2 strike outs; Tezia Boice – 3 innings, 9 runs, 8 hits, no walks, 2 strike outs; and, Bryar Fancher – 1 inning, 1 run, 1 hit, 1 walk, no strike outs.

The Sweet Peas bats got hot in the 4th inning. Offense for the Sweet Peas was supplied by: A. Gregory – 1 run, 1 hit, 1 rbi, K. Olsen – 1 run, K. Reid - 3 runs, 1 single, 1 double, 2 rbi, A. Wolff – 2 runs, 1 single, 1 triple, 2 rbi, S. Randall – 2 runs, 2 hits, 2 rbi, K. Lash – 1 hit, 1 rbi, P. Miller – 1 run, 1 hit, 1 rbi, S. Atkins – 1 run, E. Mullin – 1 hit.

Facing the best pitching they’ve seen this season, the Pink Diamonds offense was held to 5 runs with: Bryar Fancher – 2 runs, Abby Ruelas – 1 rbi, Tezia Boice – 1 run, 1 hit, 2 rbi, Anabelle Crawford – 1 run, and, Mira Caraway – 1 run, 1 rbi.

The Pink Diamonds next game is at 10am on Saturday, May 5 against the Carson Nugget/Gilson Auto Body Twisters at Edmonds Park.
