Gaming profits in Nevada jumped 8.1 percent in May thanks to a healthy rebound at Lake Tahoe but fell 2.7 percent for the Carson City area, the Gaming Control Board reports Friday.
Casinos in Carson City and Carson Valley, including Minden, Gardnerville and Topaz had a gaming "win" of $8,618,391 for May compared to $8,858,762 during the same period in 2013.
Gaming earnings at Stateline on the south shore of Lake Tahoe, which plummeted 42 percent in April, saw a modest 18.37 percent increase compared to May 2013 figures. Casinos at south shore Lake Tahoe took in gaming profits of $17,320,995.
Meanwhile casinos at North Lake Tahoe saw a 1.63 percent increase; while Reno gaming profits climbed 4.39 percent.
