Time is running out for you to submit your photo or photos for the “Carson Memories” contest. The deadline is Friday, March 22, 2013. Photos selected will become part of an historic mural exhibit on display at the Carson Nugget. The mural is being painted by renown Gardnerville artist, Beverly Caputo.
The three top submissions selected will win prizes; 1st is $500; 2nd is an iPad; 3rd is a Kindle Fire.
Star Anderson, General Manager of the Carson Nugget said, “We are asking people to submit their photos. It can be a person, place or a thing. It can pre-date the 1900’s or be as recent as 2013. The only thing required is that it must represent what is near and dear to you about Carson City, the Carson Nugget or the area.” She added, “The deadline is March 22nd so you better hurry!”
If your special image is selected, it will join Kit Carson, the V&T Railroad, Dat So La Lee, and other special Carson landmarks, people, and events that already adorn the Carson Nugget’s 2nd floor walls near the banquet rooms that are seen by thousands of people each year.
Artist Beverly Caputo's career spans 30 years. Her work can be seen in a number of local and national places including; Cabela’s, Disney, Universal Studios, City National Bank, Carson Valley Inn, Douglas County Historical Society Museum, CommRow in Reno, Sharkey’s Casino, and Kirkwood Ski Resort to name a few.
