A special event to benefit the Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary includes a voyage to Virginia City on the V&T Railroad paired with local food and beverages, April 16.

The Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary fundraiser promises an extraordinary experience for guests as they are transported back to the days of the Wild West on the journey from Carson City to the historic mining town of Virginia City. The expansive sights of the Virginia Range are accompanied by wine, cheese and gourmet crackers, as well as giveaways in each car. Lunch will be served at Mustang Ranch Steakhouse in Virginia City (included in cost).

After dining, event attendees may shop and explore Virginia City before the return trip to Carson City. Discover the remarkable sites of this former mining boomtown and peruse its diverse stores. Businesses may provide a discount for attendees. The V&T departs Carson City at 10 a.m. and departs Virginia City at 3 p.m.

“The V&T Railroad and Virginia City are a part of our region’s rich history,” said Gloria Seaton, vice president of the Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary. “These two partners showcase what makes our area so unique while supporting the tireless volunteers of the Carson Tahoe Auxiliary.”

The Carson Tahoe Health Auxiliary consists of 50 individuals who provide the hospital and patients with medical devices and services in addition to 10 nursing scholarships. Proceeds from this event will help continue to deliver quality healthcare to residents of the Carson Valley.

Tickets are $65 per person and include lunch, wine and snacks. Tickets are available in the Carson-Tahoe Hospital gift shop or call Gloria Seaton, 775-882-8162.
