Increasing moisture and instability will bring a chance for thunderstorms Friday through Monday, mainly near the Sierra and in far western Nevada, according to the National Weather Service in Reno. Gusty outflow winds and lightning are main concerns for Friday, with locally heavy rain possible this weekend.
For the Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas, there’s a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms Friday, with a 40 percent chance on Saturday and a 30 percent chance on Sunday. Daytime highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s.
