On Saturday, Feb. 21, the Silver Sage 4-H Club attended a field trip at FastFrame in Carson Valley. Owner Joe Rousse took time to discuss matting and framing with the group.
He took a simple landscape and showed how dramatically different it looked by varying the mats and frames. Everyone got a hands-on chance to see how different mat combinations looked around photos.
Mr. Rousse explained some of the reasons in using different sized frames and materials. The 4-H members attending were: Bryar and Rylan Fancher, Dean and Vanessa Poppenga, and Nora Streng.
Photography is the club project for 2015 and this lesson on matting and framing will help them prepare photos for the 2015 Carson City Fair coming this summer. The club would like to thank Mr. Rousse for his time and attention.
