Enjoy the last few warm days of September as another weather system is expected to arrive later this week to cool things off into the weekend and beyond, according to the National Weather Service.
High pressure will begin to weaken Wednesday with a few showers possible over southern Mono County. A trough will move through the West Coast later this week, bring much cooler nd windy conditions into the weekend.
Wednesday and Thursday will remain warm around Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas, with highs in the 80s with the low front arriving Friday, bringing daytime temperatures down into the mid 70s. Saturday will see daytime highs in the mid 60s, with a night time low in the low-30s. Sunday will be cooler with a slight chance of rain, and daytime highs in the upper 50s with a night time low near freezing and a chance for showers.
For Lake Tahoe, daytime highs will be in the mid 60s Friday, highs near 60 on Saturday and 50 by Sunday with a chance of snow showers in the higher elevations, according to the weather service.
