Easter weekend weather conditions around Carson City will be clear and sunny for the most part with breezy conditions late Sunday and a chance of rain or snow showers on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

Daytime high temperatures through Sunday around the Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton will be in the low 60s, ideal for all the Easter weekend activities. By Sunday night, winds will kick up ahead of a cold front moving into the region.

The cold front is expected to move south late Sunday with an increased chance of showers and dropping snow levels. Winds will shift to the north behind the front, according to the weather service. Some accumulating snow is possible, even down to the valley floors, behind the front.

By Monday morning, the cold front will seep farther south through the region and the Highway 50 corridor by mid morning and completely through western Nevada by midday. Precipitation will trail the cold front with a potential band of snow developing early Monday morning to the north of Reno-Lovelock and then southward.

The cold front is expected to stay around a while, with much cooler weather in the forecast and a chance for rain or snow showers into the middle of the week. Go here for the weather service forecast discussion.
