Tahoe is a good bet for Sunday. Sample the Sierra, a farm-to-fork festival culinary adventure features live music, entertainment and vendors, Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Bijou Community Park in South Lake Tahoe. Heavenly Village hosts a car show, a huge sports equipment sale, and a 10K run. Don’t miss out on the South Tahoe Fireworks beginning around 8:30 p.m.

Nevada is battle born, and Virginia City will be awash in activities during Great Civil War Days. The Civil War Camp at Miner’s Park is open to the public and features a swap meet Saturday evening and a prayer service Sunday morning. Witness one of the five train battles that leave from the V&T Station or head to the Delta Saloon for a Victorian High Tea. Don’t miss artist Brian Schorn at St. Mary’s Art Center. Saturday and Sunday he will be available for discussion about his newest exhibit, ‘Comstock Wabi-Sabi.’
