Gaming, right along with other sectors of Nevada’s economy, took another deep loss in the month of June. Gaming wins fell just under 14%, statewide. The Las Vegas Strip took in 14.8% less revenue this past June compared to June of ‘08. Clark County as a whole was down 14.7%. Washoe County was down 7.2% as a whole, Reno down 6.2%, Sparks down 14.1%, North Lake Tahoe was down 16%
South Lake Tahoe (Stateline) was down in June 15.1%. Around the Carson Valley, which includes Minden, Gardnerville and Carson City, gaming revenues were off 15.6%.
Statewide figures show that major gaming revenues were $818.2 million for the month of June, compared to $948 million in June of ‘08. For the fiscal year, July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009, gaming wins are off nearly 14%.
