Conditions are expected to remain dry for the remainder of the week, which means excellent holiday travel in the Sierra and western Nevada, but no help for our snow pack.
The good news for skiers and boarders headed to Lake Tahoe resorts is that the snow that fell earlier this month along with the cold weather days, plus snowmaking, has allowed for top to bottom conditions at most resorts. High temperatures for the Lake Tahoe basin will be in the low to mid-40s Christmas Day through Sunday.
High temperatures will be in the upper 40s today and lower 40s Christmas Day in Carson City, Dayton and the Carson Valley. Thursday through Saturday temperatures for region are expected to be in the mid-40s.
An Air Quality Alert continues for the Reno, Carson City and Carson Valley areas due to strong temperature inversions and stagnant air.
