Carson Tahoe Health today announced that patients and physicians in the region can now access the latest diagnostic imaging technology from Philips Medical Systems at Carson Tahoe Minden Medical Center (CTMMC). The CT (computed tomography) scanner produces crisp, detailed images of the body in just seconds.
This new, 64 slice CT-scanner improves both the speed and accuracy of imaging results—enabling physicians to detect and treat diseases at an early stage. In addition, the CT equipment includes technology that ensures patients receive less radiation. This supports patient safety and continues to align CTMMC with The Joint Commission’s high standards for accreditation.
“Our new CT system offers an excellent combination of clinical excellence and patient safety—with the biggest benefit being increased capabilities for early detection,” said Annette Patellos, Director of Imaging at Carson Tahoe Minden Medical Center. “We’ve always put a premium on giving our physicians the best diagnostic tools—and the real winners continue to be our patient community.”
Carson Tahoe Health had several reasons to upgrade to Brilliance CT 64-channel configuration, including:
• Expanding clinical boundaries in cardiac, pulmonary, trauma, and pediatric imaging.
• Lowering radiation dose for patients and staff with a DoseWise design.
• Increasing accuracy with 40mm of coverage in every rotation with submillimeter isotropics.
• Increasing test speeds with best-in-class 3-D cone beam reconstruction.
• Eliminating wait times between scanning sequences with a MRC X-ray tube.
