Carson City area May gaming revenue sees 7.7 percent increase

Carson City area casinos saw gaming revenue increase by 7.7 percent in May, compared to last year during the same month, according to figures released Friday from the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

Statewide, Nevada game license holders report a 3.3 percent “gaming win” increase compared to May 2014. For the fiscal year, July 1, 2014 through May 31, 2015, gaming win has decreased less than 1 percent.

Carson City area casinos include those in Carson Valley, Gardnerville, Minden and all other areas of Douglas County except the Stateline area. South Tahoe casino revenue at Stateline decreased by 6.76 in May, as did North Tahoe casinos with a 3.96 decrease while casinos in Washoe County, including Reno, Sparks saw revenue gains for the month.
