Pair wanted for check fraud sought by Douglas County authorities

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying two suspects who cashed fraudulent checks at the Carson Valley Inn last month.

The pair entered the cashier's cage at the casino on Feb. 24 and cashed fraudulent checks for an undisclosed amount of money. The incident was reported to the sheriff's office on March 11, according to Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Halsey.

The suspects are believed to be part of a group of suspects who have recently cashed counterfeit paychecks at several Northern Nevada area casino, he said.

The pair are described as an adult female Hispanic and an adult male Hispanic. The female is described as mid 20s, approximately five feet tall, large-fat build, and long black hair pulled up in a bun. The male is described as early to mid 20s, five foot seven inches, thin build with medium length black hair.

A reward of up to $500 is available for information leading to the arrest and conviction of these suspects.
