With much of western Nevada under a Wind Advisory, Carson Now reader Jimmy Prater captured a rainbow near his South Carson City home, arriving it seemed by gusty Tuesday afternoon winds.
The Wind Advisory continues until 7 p.m. tonight. The National Weather Service in Reno advises motorists and commuters to be prepared for poor visibility and patches of black ice overnight and early Wednesday morning.
Freezing fog will likely develop in the Sierra valleys, especially Truckee, but there is still a chance for fog to develop in Reno, Carson City and Carson Valley as well. Make sure to allow for extra travel time or delay travel until fog diminishes.
