Thunderstorms are expected to increase this week beginning Tuesday afternoon, with some forecaster confidence for isolated showers and thunderstorms in Carson City and western Nevada, according to the National Weather Service.
There's a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms through Thursday, mostly expected to develop in the afternoon and evening. Daytime highs for Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas will be in the low to mid 90s through Thursday.
Hazards associated with thunderstorms will be strong outflow winds and lightning with a risk of new fire starts possible. While this is not a flash flood pattern, some storms may have localized heavy rainfall, according to the weather service.
