A 16-year-old and a Nevada Highway Patrol trooper were taken to the hospital after an crash Friday on Highway 395 north of Minden, The two suffered non-life threatening injuries said NHP Trooper Daniel Lopez.
The crash happened Friday at 2:58 p.m. Preliminary crash investigation details indicate that a blue Honda was traveling southbound on Highway 395 toward Minden. A marked Nevada Highway Patrol vehicle was parked about five feet off the paved shoulder facing southbound, Lopez said. For unknown reason the Honda, driven by the Minden teen, drifted off the pavement striking the patrol vehicle in the rear.
The NHP patrol officer was taken to Carson Valley Medical Center via ground for non-life threatening injuries as was the 16-year-old male, said Lopez.
