Low pressure will reach California Thursday, then track over Nevada this weekend. This will bring increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms Thursday through this weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
For Carson City, Carson Valley and Dayton areas, expect highs in the mid to upper 70s Wednesday, low 70s on Thursday and upper 70s again Friday. There's a 40 percent chance for thunderstorms on Thursday, a 30 percent chance Friday and possible thunderstorms Saturday and Sunday.
Thunderstorms may produce gusty winds, heavy rain and hail. Those heading outdoors should be prepared to quickly take shelter from thunderstorms, the weather service advises.
