As a person who spends a considerable amount of time, each and every day, having fun browsing at a number of internet websites from all over North America, I thought that it might be interesting, and perhaps even informative, to share some of those sites with you.
Here are some of my favorite websites:
— Carson Now. The first website I visit is where you catch up on all the latest news about Carson City. I admit to being its Outdoor Editor, but with that said, a great big well done to Kirk Caraway and Jeff Munson for all their hard work.

Carsonvalleytimes.com.
The second website I visit is where you can catch up on all the latest news about our neighboring Carson Valley (AKA Douglas County). Another great big well done to Joey Crandell for all of his hard work.

Modernsportsman.proboards.com. The third website I visit is where sportsmen from all over the USA and the world gather to share their news, stories, experiences, tips, recipes, photos, jokes, etc. A great bunch of guys and gals having fun together.

— Caltrans live camera at www.video.dot.ca.gov. Caltrans has many live traffic cameras, where you can check roadway conditions from the comfort of your home. During winter storms, look at conditions on I-80, U.S. 50, U.S. 395, S.R. 89, etc. It is very informative!

Fishsniffer.com The internet version of the Fish Sniffer newspaper with all of the latest fishing news (and photos) in many different forums. My favorite forum is "Campfire" and my favorite poster there is humorous "Okie."
— Google.com. The place to go whenever you have a question. Google has bailed me out, time after time after time, when I've been stumped for an answer. If you need some information, this is the place to go.

www.en.wikipedia.org. It is the site for the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit. Since 2001, it has grown into one of the largest reference websites, attracting 470 million unique visitors, monthly as of February 2012. That's awesome!

Skype.com. The website where you can connect with friends and/or relatives all over the world. They can see and hear you, while you are seeing and hearing them. It's free, it's fun and you can keep up to date with everyone.

www.fairbanksalaska.com/goldenheart. The weather camera for Fairbanks, Alaska. The images change frequently and you can watch pedestrians, vehicles, chimney smoke, clouds, river, etc. You're looking at the city square next to the Cheena River.

Intellicast.com. If you think Carson City is cold, and you want to know what winter weather is like in the Far North, check out the forecasts for the remote weather station at Eureka, Canada. Be prepared to shiver. Brrr!

Travelmath.com. At this location, you can calculate the driving time, driving mileage, flight time, flight distance, cost to drive, cost to fly, stopping points, etc. between any two locations. For example, Carson City to Boston is a 2,914 mile drive.

www.usatoday.com/puzzles/crossword. This is where you can try to solve the daily crossword puzzle, and while you are doing so, you are being timed. My times to solve the entire puzzle usually run between 11 and 15 minutes. Not great, but not too shabby!

Finally:
The next time you are on the computer in your home, take the time to go exploring on the internet.
I guarantee that you will find many new and interesting things to read or to see, from all over the world.

Bet Your Favorite Pigeon
Bet your favorite pigeon he can't tell you about a very fascinating website: www.explore.org/live-cams/player/brown-bear-salmon-cam-brooks-fall is where (when the season is right) you can watch brown bears catching and eating salmon in the Brooks River, Alaska.
If he grins and says, "I've seen those bears," he is probably someone who I told about this special website.
