A weekend with temperatures well above normal is expected weather wise for the Carson City region, with some rain showers expected north of I-80 into Oregon and gusty conditions locally Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Reno.
The jet stream pushes into the Pacific Northwest this weekend bringing an increase in winds across the Sierra and northwest Nevada by Sunday. Despite abundant clouds this weekend, high temperatures will be 10 to 18 degrees above normal, however records are not forecast to be broken at this time, according the weather service.
Forecast high temperatures for Carson City are 75 on Saturday, 73 on Sunday with a 20 percent chance of rain and 69 on Monday. Dayton can expect a high around 78 for Saturday, 75 Sunday with a 20 percent chance of rain and 71 for Monday. Those heading over to Virginia City for Saturday's Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry can expect a high of 65, and Sunday, 63. In the Carson Valley, Saturday's high is expected at around 74, Sunday, 71 with a 20 percent chance of rain and Monday, 67.
